Removing the transfer paper Hot peel transfers are removed when the transfer paper is hot (it does not scald, but even more so hot to the touch). However, cold peel transfers are removed after a rest period (about 20-30 seconds). We tend to take off the transfer paper from ourselves in order to have a good view of the outcome. Cold or hot exfoliation specifies when you should peel off the liner after using the heat source (iron, EasyPress or heat press).
If you don't follow the manufacturer's recommendations, you're likely to have a problem. They should be peeled off when the shirt and paper have cooled, as they take longer due to cooling time and are generally a little more difficult to use. Cold peel transfers release nearly 100% of the ink, but the ink often feels a bit rougher. Cold peel transfers have a matte finish, unlike hot peel transfers, which sometimes tend to look like a shiny rubber patch.
The transfers are very soft to the touch and feel much lighter when worn than traditional hot peel transfers. One of the most common mistakes when performing a cold transfer is when the paper has been unintentionally peeled off. Cold peel transfers are applied at a much cooler temperature due to the properties of the film and the ink system. In addition, this information would be useful for using all types of transfers available on the market, whether provided by us or elsewhere.
A new operator can start printing right from the start without worrying about a printing error because they don't remove the transfer quickly enough or, possibly, burn their hands or fingers when they run their hand over a hot plate to take off the transfer. Screen-printed custom heat transfers, such as Aqua Color HD, can be purchased in small quantities and allow users to print with unlimited colors. When cold peeled off, the images printed on the paper could fully adhere to the lower ink, allowing full color transfer to the lower base. Sometimes, printing non-standard substrates, such as bags, doesn't leave enough time to place and peel off the transfer, making a cold peel transfer a much better solution.
This allows you to precisely position the image to be transferred and see exactly how and where it is applied. By allowing the transfer to cool completely, images are easily transferred and detached from the film with little or no marks or indentations in the fabric. Cold transfer cards are really perfect for printing promotional items, such as tote bags or canvas bags. The cooling process on the fabric after application causes the transfer to release more ink and, in this way, provides greater opacity, clear contours and straight edges around the print.
